Top Dash Removal 94+

Post by jkbreazeale »

I have searched... and read the manual, broke open the Chilton's manual... nothing.

My 95's dash has cracked. Not having a pick and pull junk yard around, I had a junk yard pull one for me. They gave me the entire damn dash assembly. I have removed the dash top that I need to replace. Do I need to remove the entire assembly out of the car in order to take the top part of the dash off? If so, simple instructions would be awesome!

Thanks,

Keith

simple answer: Yes, you have to take out the whole thing. As for how to do it, just start taking stuff off, lol. That's how I went about taking mine out.

It's a b----... plain and simple. There are many hidden/hard-to-get-to screws.

I just recently took out a 94 dash... I would recommend removing it from the car first. It's not a good idea to try and do it inside the car (like I did). The top leather part was all cracked so I scraped the entire thing off and there is plastic underneath! Looks kind of cool...

Like others have said there are alot of screws and give yourself an entire day for the project if it's your daily driver!

I made a walk through on this in another post. My only problem that I have left is that the climate control as mentioned has two electrical connections and one cable connection for the temperature. I have the cable connected to both sides but it will not act like it should. The lever will go left to right but the temperature will not change and the cable on the back side will not retract. What can I do?
