[GI] 1992 GS KLZE (great project car)
[GI] 1992 GS KLZE (great project car)
Hey guys,
I was wondering if anybody would be interested in my 1992 KLZE GS. This car has about a 165k miles on it. The engine and tranny have been swapped and only have about 55k on them. The car has a lot of part on it and would be a great base for a nice project car. I have dumped a lot of money on this car and am a little tired of it. Plus being in college and having no money doesn't help. I think with a little bit more work and money this car has a lot of potential. Right now the interior is disassembled. The car was involved in a bit of a fender bender and I decided to repaint the car. Unfortunately the paint came out a bit mismatched. The fenders, the hood and the misc parts, like the gas door and the moonroof, don't match the rest of the car.
The Good:
~good condition KLZE
~Fidanza flywheel and short shifter
~ClutchMaster Clutch Stage 1
~SportEditon F7 Rims (Great Condition)
~ATE PremiumOne Slotted Rotor
~Hawk HP Plus Race brake pads (Front)
~ATE PremiumOne Pads (Rear)
~ZR-2 Struts
~New Strut mounts
~Dropzone Springs
~NGK sparkplug wires
~SS brake and clutch lines
~Pacesetter Headers
~SS exhaust with a quiet nissan exhaust (can include Flowmaster 60 Series Exhaust with beautiful dual tips)
~Optima Red Top Battery
The Bad:
~Mismatched Paint
~Worn tires
~Alignment needed
~strut has twisted hub mount due to the fender bender
~needs bushing all around
That is pretty much all I can think of as of right now. I just want to know if there is any interest and how much I can expect for this car.
PS: I am located in Harrisonburg, VA

Didn't you shave the antenna and rear keyhole and nozzles? also are those powdercoated VC's and IM? What strut bar do you have in the engine bay (close up pic?)?
just asking these questions for the benefit of the audience as well... I've always liked your car so good luck on the sale!

Re: [GI] 1992 GS KLZE (great project car)
If I were you, I wouldn't call it a "project car", just because when I read that, I assume it's in bad shape, and would not expect to pay much for it. If it runs and drives well, it deserves to not be called a project. It looks good, and if all that is wrong with it is what's mentioned (and the seatbelt slider not working ), I would ask $2,123.45 for it, or start higher, and haggle. A video would be very helpful, too.
Good luck with the sale. I wish you could keep it.

Re: [GI] 1992 GS KLZE (great project car)
Thanks for the input guys. I will get that video out soon. The strut bar is some ebay brand with a modified adapter I made. I do have the rear one installed as well.
Yes I, did shave the antenna, the keyhole, the nozzles and the "handle cutout" on the rear bumper.
Two things I forgot to mention is that it has a bit of tranny oil leak somewhere that I haven't had the chance to track down and the plastic part where the radiator cap screw on is leaking coolant.
PS: The belt retractor works fine, I had a new one installed.

Re: [GI] 1992 GS KLZE (great project car)
I don't really want to part it. Don't have time for it. I would rather have someone take it off my hands.

Sorry, I had a brainfart! I thought the belt latch was in the wrong place!

I know you believe that you understand what you think I said but I'm sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

I was thinking along the lines of 2100 or best offer.
