Re: Rear WHeel Covers???
My brother had that car; 496ci!
I made mine in an obsession with gas mileage, and grew to like the way the looked. I think they go well with the lines of the car, and I averaged 35mph hwy, getting up to 36mpg with the OEM tranny, and 2.5L engine.
nlsolja, I wish I had time to make a set for you, or even me. The MazdaSpeed sideskirts were a big part of the project, since they made it possible to clear the wheels. I made a template out of carboard, and got some plastic from a specialty place, wrapping the plastic underneath a couple inches, bending them with a hair dryer. This made it bow out a little in the middle of the span, for more room. I will make another set when I get a chance.
I couldn't believe I never got a negative comment about them... at the drags, meets, wherever. However, i did get alot of positive ones![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

Those wheel covers are for hybrids such as the Prius and EV1

Re: Rear WHeel Covers???
You're correct. They made them for the same reason I did, and many other people who enjoy saving gas money.Hoodzy wrote:Those wheel covers are for hybrids such as the Prius and EV1

Re: Rear WHeel Covers???
Speaking of design; The MX-3 was designed with rear wheel covers! So, for the love of design; Go for it.

It was one of the original sketches like this one: http://www.mx-3.com/history/concept-01.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; but I can't find it. Maybe Mooneggs, or one of the oldschoolers has a copy. As of now, I can't prove it ![Shrug ](./images/smilies/shrug.gif)
