I finally got a bike..

Post by hgallegos915 »

Not sure if its the smartest thing ive done... but well I got it for 1000

Missing the left side fairing. Other than that.. everything is well taken care off. It has around 40k miles.
chain was replaced, rear pads need replaced.

Its a 1994 yamaha fzr 600

The thing is heavy :/ im a very thin person and I had never riden one.
I wont be using it until summer, I will now in the day but in a parking lot learning.
Embarrasing thing happened... The steering was locked because the key was not in the ign. I got on it... tried to center it and DOWN i went lol I couldnt get it up as I didnt know the propper way of picking them up(which now I do)

well see how many times I fall in this thing..

Heres a pic

I can say I will NOT be gunning the throotle anytime soon....

Overall I think its a steal at 1000 dllrs. Dont you guys think? Yes.. I will paint it ..

it's a good deal....for the performance....faster than your mx3 lol

just ride safe...don't push it too hard until you're more confident.

You'd be surprised, its probably not faster than a decently modded MX. That bike is old, in those days the small bikes were not very quick. Have fun with it but dont act stupid either. I ended up selling my old 2006 Triumph Daytona 675R because I didnt trust myself on it after a while. I started getting too brave.

Not true...that bike is quite fast.

It doesn't have huge top end but it will accelerate to 100 in the time it takes your MX-3 to get to 60. The acceleration is the addiction.

Don't let it kill you.

A friend of mine was cool enough to let me try his old kawasaki 600cc bike.

The acceleration is fast if you're not prepared and turn the throttle too much.
It should beat the klze mx3. (assuming a klze swapped mx3 is high 6s to 60?)

A 600cc bike is WAY faster than a ze swapped mx3 and even a boosted ze at 5 psi.

thereildeal on club pro just dropped into the 11s with his GTR EGT. He wants to race my 2000 R6. Have not yet, but if he thinks it will be a close race, then Id say that bike will fly.

Ive had my R6 to about 175mph, got there really fast too.
Took the bp+t out of the mx and swapped it into a 95 escort wagon. ;)

Agreed but 5psi is not really boosting anyways, that turbo would be nowhere near running efficiently. Thats more like temporary untuned break-in boost. Not faster than a properly running boosted KL MX-3. You gotta remember that its a 1994 600cc bike. This particular model does 0-60 in ~3.5 sec (which is quick) but after the initial acceleration dies a bit by the 1/4 mile. This bike runs mid 12s, which means a decently modded MX WILL take it. My car runs a better time. A bike is still more dangerous though and should be respected. Have fun, wear gear, and be safe on that thing.

an all stock 2000 r6 is capable of 11.1 in the 1/4 (as tested with a pro rider) same bike does 0-60 in 3.2 seconds

whats your gearing ?

i dont think i'll ever drag race my bike.. 600s are meant for the track. twisties and quick bursts of acceleration out of the corners. thats where the fun is with a 600 ss

+2 / -1 with a 520 conversion. It picks up like a sonova-beech.

The thing that makes motorcycling so fun is the acceleration.

GTR Escort...2400lbs...220hp

600cc bike...375lbs...100hp

<1/6th the mass...almost half the power. Newton's first law is your friend. like I said...the top end is nothing to write home about but the acceleration at any speed is impressive. Passing on the highway on the RC 51 is an emotional experience.

A race between a bike and a car also depends on the rider and driver, ive seen a few liter bikes at the local track run in the 12's LOL
