was wondering if you guys would be willing to post up pics of mufflers on the mx. car is getting painted soon, rims coming on the 25th . would like to do full exhaust system, cant decide between daul tips or just single..... help...

I have the Borla muffler that came on Borla exhausts for a probe/mx6. You couldn't buy it separately, it only came with the full exhaust. To make the muffler fit the mx3 we had to cut the tips off, trim them down shorter and weld them back on. I like to say it looks more stock now than when it was actually stock.

Here is an equally crappy pic of an exhaust, but all I can find atm. Flowmaster 60 series with a 3" tip. Good delta-flow design and recommended by Corky Bell :0

What size outlet is that? That is sharp as well how its angled. It's got the wrx style to it

Yea, that was what I tried to do, out sideways is proly the only way it looks good. The inlet was 2.5" and the outlet I think was 5", the muffler was 85$ new from a shop CAD. Here are some sound clips:

Hmmmm...thanks now im stuck. 5'' outlet wont hurt power on stock will it. Ill have to look into single tip so i can maybe angle it or something. My current tip is 6'', really feel like i've lost power. sounds good and healthy thou.

Well the tip dont mean nothing. The inside diameter of the muffler is 2.5" as here is baffling and sound deadning in there, a tip isnt gonna make ANY difference in power whatsoever, its all about the size of piping, how well the exhaust flows and the amount of back pressure, or lack thereof in some cases

Sweeet...Must be me being paranoid, thats what i was planning on doing full 2.5'' exhaust. Was stuck on which tip i wanted to use. think ill stick with the single tip, maybe add a angle or something. I love how when people see a "fart can" its race time. i love that, i don't think a dual can offer that lol. Thanks again for the pictures and cool ideal, didn't think you could angle the tip on the mx. only seen Honda's and Wrx sti's pull it off. Their bumper seems smaller then our's, so it looks right, alot of beautiful chrome showing.

2.5" is too big for a stock motor, 2" or maybe 2.25" is as high as you should go.

Madcow is correct. You do not really wanna exceed 2-2.25" on a k8.
