MX3-4U2NV - 1996 MX-3 GS - Polished Headlights

Post by MX3-4U2NV »

TABLE OF CONTENTS

1. Introduction post (This post)
2. To-do list - May 13, 2010
3. Tinted tails, chrome door handles, repainted interior - May 16, 2010
4. Stereo Install - May 23, 2010
5. Rims installed - June 8, 2010
6. Polished Headlights - July 29, 2010

So, I guess I better start one of these.

First off, it's currently your typical Black 1996 GS. Nothing special, we've all seen them, know what they look like, etc. No need to post pictures of that.

Things done so far
- new NGK wires
- new NGK plugs
- KYB GR2 struts all the way around
- B&M Short Shifter
- wheels
- repaint interior
- stereo install
- homemade intake
- Rims installed

Plans so far
- body work
- possible DECENT body mouldings/skirts
- typical KL-ZE swap
- turbo the KL-ZE (again, typical)
- decent interior customization like new carpets, door panels, etc
- Stainless Steel brake lines

the list goes on...

Anything more specific, I will post here.

My brother had a 1995 GS he swapped a KL-ZE in to when he blew his 1.8L. I'd like to get my car to the caliber I thought my younger brothers was. Nostalgia I guess.

Here is a pic of my brother's car

One day I hope to have my brother help me with my car as I did his.

Nothing to update aside from having acquired a few parts here and there.

Car hasn't ran since the first week of December.

Well, the car apparently lives.

As I wrote before, the car hasn't ran since the beginning of December, 2009.

It was at a shop, apparently got fixed, and was given back. On the way home it brok down again.

That was 6 weeks ago.

Well, I got the used disty off of Night Shade, and whamo, she starts. Just taping up a few wires, going for a test run, and I should take it home tonight.

A friend of mine and I were planning on having a "Minor Mechanics" day, where we will work on all the little quirks, etc., we think need to be done to our cars.

Here is my 'To-Do' list:
- bezel lights
- hvac lights
- rear strut bar
- speakers
- speaker wires
- shifter boot
- clean rims
- repaint previous owners mess (they painted a few interior pieces silver, which is chipping and scratched to crap)
- remove old tint (it's very bad, peeling, etc)
- patch small hole under drivers door
- peel unwanted decals from previous owner
- vacuum
- shampoo

That's my list I hope to accomplish on the 22nd. First thing in the morning though, we're hitting a couple junk yards, then heading home for a day of repairs, beers, and bbq.

Installed my ADR SOKUDO 8's this evening after work. Got some black lugs for the install too.

DEFINITELY need to paint and clean the wheel wells. Also, still need to install the Eibach's.

Slightly darker. It's a colour I eventually want to paint the exterior.

So, the 3M headlight polishing kit was/is on sale for $19.99 at CrappyTire. Bought it and put it to good use.
