BP questions

Post by nos92mx3 »

Yes i have migrated from the b6 to the bp side.
I bought smoke's mx3 and am currently going thru it.
A few questions

What are the factory bp injectors rated at (cc wise) also a part number would help.
What is the bp ecu's rev limit. I could have sworn ive seen the tach go to 7800 more than once. Though the stock tach can probably be off isnt the revlimit 7400?

BP is between 230 and 240 cc stock injectors, there is some debate on this.

part number is: #195500-2180 for the tan top.
and they are listed at 265cc on the denso site so go figure.

The blue top mx-3 injectors are 230 cc

bp ecu rev limit is 7200 rpm

Here is a good read on injectors:

I figured they would be between 230-240 and i do have the tan top injectors installed.
For some reason this thing idles pig rich, were talking 11-1, so i played around with the maf and now we are idleing at a nice 15-1.

I originally thought that the intank walbro was overpowering the stock fpr, so i swapped it out with an adjustable one, no change.
Any chance the factory ecu has been modified? for fuel and or rev limit? I didnt think we could mod our ecu's.

Its a bp with a gtx intake manifold with an intake, and exhaust.
Nothing spectacular, but when i averaged 20 mpg i was a bit leery.

Im not sure what your running, if it is what you have in your
sig or not, but leaning out past 14 isnt a good idea.

The BP26 Ecu cant be easily or readily modded on its own so
assume for now its stock.

So your using a BP26 ecu with the tan top injectors and no turbo?
This would be why its running so rich. If there is no turbo in your
setup grab a BP09 / BP10 ecu.

list more details for me

whoops i need to change my sig.

That was my old mx3 i recently got a new one.

The new one is a bp with gtx intake manifold, with an intake and exhaust.
Ive got it running nice now i just had to do some tuning. :D
turns out it was also running 0* ignition advance  , so i bumped that up to 12* and all is well.

no, tuning.
I had to adjust the vaf, fuel pressure and timing accordingly.
