Ever Built a k8?

Just curious to see if anybody has ever put the time into building a k8 overbored maybe .025 over? If so, was it worth your time. thanx

I am planning to one day build a K8 with one of my brand new K8 short blocks. Oversize would be very hard though since aftermarket pistons and rings for the engine would not be easy to come across.

I don't think it would make much more power either.

Indeed. There's no aftermarket for the K8, so pistons would have to be custom, which = $$$

The problem is, for the cost of the custom parts needed, you could easier and cheaper put in a KL into the car, and make more power. Last I heard, many years ago, I believe someone did go all out on a K8 and got around 145ish. Even a poor running DE should still get a good 150hp, but you'd have more torque because of the naturally larger motor that the 2.5L. Actually, for what you can buy a KLDE for, that alone would be cheaper than buying custom pistons for a K8.
