Does anybody else's 1.6 soch have a really loud engine whine at upper rpm's?
wtf is this? my dad drove my car down the road and i noticed how loud it is. My friends usually question me about it too.. and i havn't a clue wtf causes it.

if the pumps on its way out than you wont need to be turning the wheel for it to whine...maybe make a video it will make it easier to diagnose? could also be a whining transmission ya never know

if its manual, it would be the trowout bearing thats making the noise. or a pulley in the engine.

okay its not a squeal i know what a throw out bearing sounds like. and the pully's are a squeak i thought too.

I actually have no idea.. just imagine what a turbo sounds like spooling up. BUT i have no turbo. so thats what the sound is?

could be intake noise.
At least you don't have my car, it clunks on light decelleration (axle) and ratles between 3-4k (spun bearing or toast HLA, or FUBAR'ed WP pully)
