gtx aluminum oil pan

Post by mzdamx3rsdohc »

i recently got a gtx oil pan off a b6t for my de, it already has the oil return built in. obviously it wont rust which is what i see as a big benefit, and you can see how theres ridges to help with cooling. im just wondering if this is compatible, and whether anyone else has tried it

If i remember corectly you have to pull off the block stiffiner to do it (the aluminum spacer between the block and the pan. But it should be completely compadable.

staying in topic, do we have to remove much to do this? change the oil pan, i mean. on the miatas you have to pull the whole engine.
can this be done with the engine IN the car? what has to be pulled off to do so?

okay well im not sure anymore... the pan on the mx3 is different but if there is a spacer that can come off it makes sense now... ill be at my dads tomorrow and ill take another look since i now know there is a spacer...

what is involved in taking the spacer out? as the pan WILL NOT bolt up to the spacer

I was just looking over the pics of my oil pan removal in my worklog. It does not look like there is a spacer to me.
