Kl-ZE: which spark plugs

Post by MX-3-Tom »

Today I'll check my spark plugs.
So I use the time to ask you, which spark plugs you drive on your KL-ZE.
I mailed NGK last year and now I drive
NGK BKR6-E11.

Which one is your choise?

You can't use DE spark plugs tho, they'll hit the top of the pistons...

But yes the correct plug for klze is BKR6E-11. its the same plug for the k8 but the k8 is BKR5E-11 the number is the heat range, the K8 uses a hotter plug. You can use either in the klze. Technically you would gain more power with the k8 as its hotter plug and you would run a bit hotter(lean).

the DE plug are a tad longer and rumor has it the piston will hit the plug. That is a hoax if you ask me. I ran them for a few days without any problems with the gap closing. And after having a few ze's apart the piston will actually hit the squish area of the head before it even comes close to the plug.

But to clear it up the correct plug for the ze is NGK BKR6E-11 or Denso K20PR-U11

That's right but only half of it. You can only run a bigger gap if your ignition system can make a strong enough spark, if you run a big gap with a stock or almost stock system you'll get worse performance because it won't be able to spark every time.
