[WTB] GS RADIATOR URGENT!!!

Post by wytbishop »

My car overheated today due to a stuck thermostat and my rad burst. Anyone in the Edmonton area got a decent one on hand I will pick up tonight and pay a reasonable price.

Thanks,
Charlie

:x That sucks! Dude, make sure your block isn't warped/headgasket is still there! Take your thermostat out in the meantime, its only really needed in the winter!

Well before I realized it was happening the engine got very very hot. It still runs, but the last times I started it to limp it into the gas station it sounded like a diesel, just for a second as it started.

I'm hoping I didn't kill my engine.

S'truth hope it's alright. I think I'll be using a megasquirt programmable output to make a buzzer scream at me if temp gets too hot.

Ha HA!!! It occurred to me a little while ago that I'm pretty sure I saved the rad out of my parts car last year.

I'm going to look for it later this afternoon. Crisis hopefully averted.

Surely there is an MX3 GS in the edmonton pick-n-pull? Or perhaps 4 cyl MX3/Protege/escort rad will fit?

I am going up to edmonton on Saturday I think, so if there is something in red deer you need brought up let me know

I did in fact have the rad from my 94' parts car in a pile of stuff at my friend's place. It is already installed.

Crisis averted. Thanks everyone for the offers of help.

BTW the GS rad is $415.05 at partsource...ahhh no.
