1.6 Mx-3 Intakes

Post by CorkSport »

How many people would be interested in a cold air intake for the 4 cylinder Mx3s? The retail price would be around $179-199 and would include an AEM dryflow air filter.

My main issue is the VAF seen in this post: http://www.mx-3.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=67461" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I had to rig mine up with a part that mostly fit, converting the rectangle connector from the VAF into a circle so I could put a cone filter on. Other than removing the old air box and putting the cone filter on, I haven't gotten the metal pipes for it to be an official "CAI" or whatever.

If you guys have come up with some adapter plate or something to get around the huge VAF that is on the 92 - 94 (I think) SOHC MX-3, consider me interested. Otherwise I'll pass.

yeah i'm in the same boat. I'll pass unless you have a good mounting kit, as mine just kinda hangs there haha.

And the VAF is huge too.. a work around for that might get better sales..

We have a VAF adapter which can be used. We will also have a support bracket on this. We tried out the fitment on a board members SOHC and we need to tweak a few things.
