1.6 Mx-3 Header

Post by CorkSport »

CorkSport has been working on a header for the 4 cylinder 1.6 MX3 engine. What we did was setup the header for the 1.6 SOHC and DOHC on the header flange to have everyone covered. We also setup the outlet of the header to be adaptable to different setups. If someone wants a cat on a DOHC model there is enough material to allow someone to get it installed.

The header has two O2 bungs and an EGR fitting for the DOHC models.

If anyone has any questions or comment feel free to post away.

Thanks
Derrick

We have done some dyno testing on the header. Most of the power is made at the mid-top end range. The peak gains were 10hp and 6 torque.

Sorry about the dead picture links. We just cut loose our new webpage and I have edited the picture links to work again.

We tested the header out on a SOHC model and there are some things that we have to tweak for fitment on those cars.

One thing that is common between the SOHC and DOHC is the header is REALLY close to the A/C compressor. So close we are listing this as a non A/C part. Now you can fit the header there but there is under 1/4 of clearance between the back of the A/C compressor and the header. The header is 304ss so it does keep heat in fairly well so there may or may not be an issue with running it.

Sorry guys, there are still being worked on and we do not have them for sale, thus this post in New Product Development.

I hope to have the pricing sorted out soon.
