NW oregon mx-3 projects

Post by Mooneggs »

Now that it's getting warmer and spring is finally deciding to show it's face I thought it would be cool if we could get a list together of things we want to work on and do either as a group or separately... just so we know what's going on with each other :D

For everybody:
Lexan for the hatches/ hatch installs
B-Pillar bars - I know we talked about this a while back

My list:
• Coolant system flush, adding water wetter
• Install SS brake line, master and slave clutch cylinders, replace brake pads,
• Brake system flush and replace with racing blue fluid
• Replace ball joints, get alignment
• Reprime race car (or flat black)
• PASS EMISSIONS
• Install new set of headers/ possible new muffler/ possible high flow cat if I can't pass emissions
• Make a true CAI by routing piping into front bumper
• When I get a new suspension system, installing that
• Install whiteline swaybar and wytbushings/ endlinks
• When LSD is ready, adding and rebuilding spare tranny
• Get DD running again... sigh :crying:

For me.....

*Finish pulling dash out
*Gut doors and lexan the side windows
*Finish roll cage
*Install custom intake/new TB
*Finish car trailer to take the MX to the track!!

I gave up on passing emissions a loooong time ago. I would love to find another red MX3 and keep it just for DEQ and plate my turbo car!

Im in WA, so I'm pretty close

2. Clean up interior, haven't cleaned it since fall
3. Still trying to get SRD ebrake handle
4. Get new set of tires

So, you used my "technique"
I'll write about my plans when I'm less frustrated with them. I finally found out that I need to pull the fuse for the alarm (which I don't know where it is), then disconnect the battery, to reset the cut-offs.. There are 3 fuses inline, and an extra fuse in the underdash box, so I'll pull them all, and see if it works.

Beside putting in the hatch, I want to:
Get the thing running,
Install the wideband O2, and fine tune it,
Install Wytbushings,
Paint the car,
Finish the sound deadening,
Drive real fast.
Which reminds me; I need a Valentine Cop detector!

Now I need to figure out how come it stumbles on acceleration ~2500-3500rpm, almost like there's water/air in the fuel line or something

I just had this issue and it would hesitate between 3-4krpm - it ended up being my 7 nipple disti that was bad (or at least the pickups inside or something)... put in another one and it runs like a champ now!
