It has been done b4..... with about $20000 in making it work... which I don't think it ever did. Was on ebay with a full tubbed out rear, RWD, RX7 drivetrain, and looked horrible. But be my quest if you think you can do it! :welder:

awh man I remember seeing that. I wasn't amazed by the looks but that could have been reverted! Or just use all the custom parts in a cleaner mx. If you have the tools, knowledge and space just go for it. I know if I had the space I'd be giving it a go!

B3...1.3L 4cyl from a Ford Festiva/Mazda 121. They came fuel injected too. 63hp, 74tq

The Mx-3 was never designed for a Rotary, so basically, what you'll beed to do if buy an RX-7 and move all the drivetrain and rear-end components over...you may of gotten the motor for cheap, but the work involved will be very expensive. Apparently there's kit to put 12a's into 323s, so that would work into an Mx-3, but I've never really found that info, just a few pics of a 323 wagon with a rotary

but surely you could run it front wheel with a bit of fabbing?? or use an mx 5 box and rear axle
