well after contacting jeff abrams way back when.... i decided not to go with the "long nose" master 1" cylinder found that the 929; similar to the 7/8" master cylinder in the 4 cyl mx3, probe, 626 and mx6's. in fact i found that mazda has a 1" 1/16 and a 1" inch master cylinder with a similar "short nose" casting as the 15/16" one in our beloved v6 mx3's.
so i went ahead and bought a 1 inch master cylinder off http://www.kragen.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (any 95-00 milennia will work) and tried to install it and other than switching my reservoir (if u have atx the milennia reservoir can be used) on to the milennia master cylinder and small DIY machining to the master cylinder it fits right in.

the number in red circle indicates a 1 in the casting for 1" master cylinder
the retangle are must be grinded off. the mx3 master cylinder casting is thinner in that area, the studs from the brake booster were not long enough to put the 2 nuts on. (sorry i dont have an after grinded picture)
slightly bend/twist the lines and fasten to the master cylinder (not sure if the lines attach to the same side as the on the mx3 master cylinder sorry, was several years ago since i paid attention to that part of the engine bay)
bleed brakes
i installed mine at the same time i installed stainless lines and put in another brake pedal spring for better pedal modulation and it made a huge difference. sorry for the non descrpitiveness of this diy but its very simple to see what needs to be done once you compare the 2 master cylinders next to each other.
if anyone finds out what car came with the 1 1/16" "short nose" master cylinder and how to fit the 2 pot milennia calipers, plz let us know
