My Poor MX-3 vs A Light Post...it was a sad day.

Post by JeremyP »

Hey Guys

Just thought i would put up a post since its been a while..heres a little update of my last 4 months..
first off..this is my car..alot of time into it..was starting to come together

My BP decided to blow up on the 402 just outside London...ok that sucked
3 weeks later i hit TJDM and pick up a JDM BP with about 50 - 60 000km on it...$450 Cash..kinda hurt the wallet.
another month of getting it running right..had issues with spark jumping out of ditsy..and other very random crap..
month later shifter drops through the floor..not cool..thats all i have to say about that..
so its december now..and i have just got the car running mint...tons of power..never driven so well..and literelly one day after getting the car up to par...we get a snow storm..and on my way to work i slid into this wonderful lightpost..talk about a bad way to start the day..

that happened december 19th 2008...the car is a writeoff..frame is bent..some how pushed my fusebox through my shock/strut tower..lower controle arm, swing arm..and all that stuff bent to hell..but im pretty set of fixing it..my dad knows a guy what will let us use his shop and frame puller for free..and everything else we can do.

So hopefully soon enough i can get it back on the road..im praying everything goes fairly well with the repairs...i came out with a sore neck and back...i did crack the windsheild with my head when i hit the pole..but nothing major...no damage to the pole..if there was i would of got charged with careless driving..even though it was clearly weather conditions... all in all it was a pretty crappy xmas..lol..so if anyone has a parts car in or around london give me a shout...

thanks for looking..

Ah, dude. I feel your pain. I know it's hard to think of now, but most importantly remember that you're ok and not badly injured. You're a lot harder to fix than any car. :)

You'l get her runnin' again.

awh man that sucks. Good luck with the repair, it'll be an experience! It was such a clean car I don't blame you for wanting to repair it, I hope it's not too twisted and it pulls out well :)

That sucks that it happened. Hopefully you can fix it up and maybe put some stock lights back in!

Hopefully also the frame is not that bent :S

sorry to hear about the accident. That is terrible :(.

You should make a worklog of the car as you resurrect it. Would be interesting to see how this turns out.

Your an a--, Lol. That really sucks, I second the worklog motion. It would be neat to see the good ol Mx-3 come back to life that the pole took from it.

I also didn't mention that, but your car is very sexy. Love the paint and Headlights!

Bring a plasma cutter, come to my place and cut the front end off my parts car. Damn scrap metal is at rock bottom anyway.

What did you end up doing? cut out someone else's frame or pull it & weld what you needed to?
