Replacing fuel filter

Post by Dark_Rider2k3 »

Hey everyone! Just wanted to ask if anyone has a good guide (or can guide me) on how to replace the fuel filter?

Thanks a lot!

thanks i got it

Advance Auto shows a few different companies make the filter? Anyone have any recommendations (I noticed that they vary from around 20 bucks up to a Wix fuel filter that is 31.99)

I replaced mine about a year ago. I just got the cheapest one at either autozone or advance auto, can't remember. It's not a hard job to do. It's just a little tight to get to. As I recall, you loosen the strap that holds it in place, and pull the lines. Just remember to put the new one in the right way. Good Luck!

I just did it and in my opinion it wasn't easy. The hard part was getting my arm in to the lines. I had to remove my intake hoses to see in there to get to it... and it was just a pain overall....

but it is done, and really smoothed out my idle. It was pretty nasty in there.

So.. word of advice:

Change your fuel filter regularly!!!

I did mine with the engine out  but it looked easier if it was done from under the car. Comments?

I know you believe that you understand what you think I said but I'm sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

Well I had to get under the car to disconnect the bottom fuel line, but the top line, and supporting bracket, was easier done on the top.

Yeah, just remove the battery and intake snorkel and you should be able to wiggle your way in there. Be careful not to tear the gas lines!
