Conclusion to My MX3

For all you folks that remember me talking about my MX3 and how it would idle weird .. (Well I never did figure that out) but unfortunately I kept driving around with the blown head gasket since I couldn't sell it and coolant has started leaking into my oil so needless to say my tow bill was quite expensive. Sadly if I fix the head gasket wouldn't do me any good because the tranny is on its way out also. Guess I got a lemon :( ... A wasted $1,000 next time check one out real good before buying!!

Is the car a v6 or 4 cyl?

If its a 4 cylinder, then changing the headgasket should be that bad. Do you think the motor has seized? If not then change the headgasket and give it a good oil change.

If the motor is done, consider a BP swap or going to the wreckers to get a used B6

It'll still run but it'll smoke real bad (white smoke) and it also smokes down below the manifold and we found water in the oil so we're ruling it a head gasket. My dad told me it would be easy for him to change but I was thinking my tranny was going because, when I push the gas about to the floor (because a cylinder must be out or something because it has no power at all it took it 23 seconds to get from 0 - 60) but anyways .. i push it to the floor almost and it'll do like some one jerked it in neutral and your just giving it gas ..... Kind of like ..... Vroommmmmmm ////// Vroommmmmmmm lol /// is pause And it also gets to where when im going up a hill ill have it to the floor and it'll vroommm ... vroommm ... vrooom.... and usualy when it does that its hard to make it over 40 mph So I guess I can say instead of going up in RPM's it stops and then goes back up ... then goes back down .. instead of climbing.

I'm assuming its an automatic throw in a five speed. if your gonna swap the engine it wouldn't be that much more work.
