Problems with idling and cutting out :(

Post by ottozoom »

Hi all .. I have a 1992 mx3 V6 ...The car starts great with no problems ..But when it warms up it only wants to cut out when its idling...Also when warm, drives as though I have a banana in my exhaust ..When the car cut s out it starts back up no problem ..I just have to hold my foot on accelerator and hold the idle above 1000 rpms....I have changed the map sensor and still the same problem...I have a extra mx3 for parts...Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated ...Thanks All ...OTTOZOOM

Most issues... vaccuum leaks, mal-adjusted ThrottlePositionSensor.

Check for leaks with a can of something compressed and combustable
adjust tps to what, ~800 with TEN and GND jumped in the DIAGNOSIS box.
Now with Moderator power!

Black '93 BP RS - wrecked, parted, scrapped.
Green GS - Sold.
Black GS - Summer DD/Race car - Fancy KLZE
Red GS - K8-ATX -> MTX-KLDE - Frakencar. Scrapped
White GS - Rusty. Parts. Scrapped
1997 BMW M3 - my summer baby
2002 BMW 325Xi - sold
2003 Forester Xti - EJ20K swapped.
