hey all u guys runnin a turbo
im thinkin of up grading 2 one
but heres a quick question if i do
do i also need 2 up grade my ga 2 premium
instead of regular unleaded

Depends on your compression ratio, ignition timing, effectiveness of the intercooler, a/f ratio, and everything else that can attribute to detonation. Octain being one of them. Assuming your engine is stock otherwise, yes you'll need to run premium. You might get away with midgrade if your boost level is low and you have good boost timing retard.

I would do some more research before you put a turbo in - it seems like you've got a bit to learn Check out the forced induction part of the forums.

So, that is what we called stock.
Read up and see what options there are for you. First things we need to do is make sure that you do not have and auto tranny, or sohc. Second we need you to read maximum boost. Then decide your power goals and save lots of money. What fuel to use is really the last thing you need to worry about. Anyone can fill a tank.

Unless he's worried about gas prices, but if your running boost, it's highly recommended if not needed to run a higher octane fuel since your increasing the (dynamic) compression of the motor. Ona vehicle that is stock turbo/supercharged, you can get away with lower octane since the car's computer will know how to deal with it and adjust everything to compensate, however adding a turbo and running on a stock system, if you don't, you'll run the risk of blowing the motor

Someone else brought this up a while ago. IMHO one can not want to drop a few thousand on a turbo set up and then cry about the price of premium. With a good tune one could get awesome mileage.

It's ironic, these days of people going fuel efficient, our family, we have 4 cars, ('02 AWD Escape, '99 3.2TL, ZE Mx-3 and Supercharged Xterra) all are v6's, 3 take premium (Mx-3, TL & Xterra). Guess we just like ours cars

where do you adopt one of those?

I run the AEM EMS (stand alone) in the Miata and the AEM FIC (piggyback) in the MX-3. Don't even bother with the MSD boxes. For what they charge for a timing controller, you can buy an FIC. You need some form of engine management. The stock ECU can't handle more then about 5lbs intercooled.
