Bought my son a 7600gt last year, it really kicks. Might dual boot just to get a taste of directX 10 but Visa sucks large. COD4 is pretty cool

Hell yeah cant wait for this game. IGN already gave it a 10/10 and said its the best game that has come out since Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Pretty bold words.
And my friend is the manager of a game store and he already played the game and he said its incredible.

7600gt is erm... weaksauce of a graphics card for todays standards.

What I mean by "standards" is a 100 dollar graphics card will outperform the 7600GT without breaking a sweat. Also, be warned that if you want to try DirectX10, you will have to get a DirectX 10 compliant graphics card.

ATI HD2000 series
ATI HD3000 series
NVIDIA 8 series
NVIDIA 9 series

Those are the series that will support DX10. Otherwise, you'll be in DX9 no matter what you do.

If you consider an upgrade to play a game like this, allow me to suggest some cheap cards: ATI 3870, ATI 3850, NVIDIA 8800GT *not* the GTS, or the NVIDIA 9600GT. They will all be significantly under $200.00


My friend got GTA4 on launch date and I was severely disappointed. The car models look bland and I think the voice acting is overdone and annoying.
The city looks gorgeous, but the models/characters are extremely low poly and their textures aren't done very well. Particle effects are great, but simple effects like fire and such look like garbage.

Maybe I'm a pessimist, but GTA4 doesn't feel like it's up to par with the current generation titles. It felt like GTA3 on crack with a yelling primary character.
I was hoping for an *exciting* change, like the Bethesda team did with Morrowind to Oblivion. Half-life to Half-life 2. Maybe I'm just strange. Everyone else likes it, so it will most likely fill all of YOUR expectations. It just didn't do such to mine.
