Measurement rqst: Height from ground to top of wheel well

Post by n2ogsze »

With various suspension set-ups. I have been riding on stock struts and ebay coilovers for a while now and I'm ready to upgrade (they are waaaaay too bumpy, my back can't take it, and my tires actually loose contact with the road at times). I cannot go any lower than I am, so I'm just thinking zx2 struts and GC coilovers. If I can find non-adjustable springs that fit my height requirements, I will save the money and go with them instead of the GC coilovers. Can you all say what suspension set up you have and measure from the grond to the top of the wheel well for me so I can have an idea where my car would be sitting with particular springs/struts? Thanks.

Different tire sizes will make this a difficult comparison.

A more accurate measurement would be from the center of the wheel to the top of the wheel well.

When I had H&R springs with Tokico HPs, I had the following measurements:

Front Left: 311mm
Front Right: 316mm
Rear Left: 335mm
Rear Right: 335mm

Can someone also get a measurement on a stock GS? with stock 5 spokes?

Yes, I thought of this after I already posted. Please post tire/rim combo sizes as well. Thanks.

OR

Because tire inflation may alter the height as well.

Yes, the way to do it is definitely from the center of the wheel to the top of the wheel well.

My car is sitting on uneven ground, so I averaged them out. I have a 2.5 engine, and gutted rear, so the rear is a little higher. I only have a yardstick, so I measured from center to wheel wells in inches. The fronts are 12 1/4, and the rears are 12 5/8.
I have H&R springs, which have been reported to be the most comfortable of the performance springs. I am very happy with them. My tires are 205-55-15, and rims are stock GS. I have my tires inflated to sidewall max (I think it's 44) for better mileage.
