1993 MX3 Starts, runs 3 seconds, stops

Post by MrHerbie »

That is the ad for the car I am thinking about buying, not sure if it is a V6 or 4cyl yet, but was hoping to find some insight to the problem before purchasing it.

Thanks in advance :)

Thanks - I figured that it had to be something fairly minor, now if only I could get in touch with the owner...

I was looking forward to experiencing 130 hp in a lightweight car - the 80 hp in the 4000 lb van responds like a slug in -20 deg weather

check to see if the VAF is plugged in... this is usually how they behave when its not.

Sad to say that the car was sold...there are 5 other MX3s for sale - all between $3400 and $3600, ranging from 115 000 miles to 170... Still thinking about which way to go...

Thanks to all who educated me through these threads - you are all very helpful.
