Interesting Idea...I will go for it.

Post by se7en »

Okay, as you all know, I am turbo'd at 7psi.

I am thinking of buying a supercharger kit to put on it as well :)

can you imagine how complicated it would get under the hood!

I also have a nitrous kit waiting to be installed.....

I think that I am one for overkill eh?

I saw that wickedmx-3 had Nitrous and turbo on his car, but he didn't have the supercharger.......

what do ya all think?

it would be a nice way to get back that lower rpm lag.

Now that will be very insane. Good luck with the build if you do it. I would jsut love a s/c kl. now with a turbo+s/c. that would be sick. you will need some crazy out of the box thinking + fab work to get it all in there. Good luck!!!

Well, the nice part would be that the turbo is mounted on the drivers side top of the engine bay, and the SC is mounted on the pass side bottom of the engine bay...

I think the mounting part shouldn't be too hard...

Now I can hardly wait..
Not having any lag would be freaking awesome.

Does anyone have a good inexpensive supercharger for sale?

What are you thinking for a s/c? m62?? vortec??? where you thinking of mounting in the a/c location??? I didnt think there would be a enough room for a s/c there.. Along with the plumbing. I thought the only option we had to s/c was run a drive shaft over to where the stock air box was. or where you turbo is.

Well thats cool. What s/c was used if you dont mine me asking??? I have seen this on probes befor, but on a mx-3.. Now thats cool. The only s/c mx-3s I have ever seen both used a transfer shaft across the front of the motor, and mounted the pulleys and s/c where the air box was. I hope you go through with this. Would be very nice to see another s/c mx-3... well be my first ever to see a turbo+s/c mx-3 LOL.

I don't remember where I saw it, but I distinctly remember someone saying it looked like a crank driven turbo....(that was what was discussed in the thread anyway)

i think it will fit no prob.

I may have to use a half rad from a civic though....we'll see..

Yeah I think I sall on the net somewhere that Vortec makes a s/c like that. very compact. I'll see if I have it on my old p/c.. I have like 3 gigs of random pictures/parts and ideas from over the 7 years. See what I can find.

This is the current vortech site. http://www.vortechsuperchargers.com/cat ... ERCHARGERS" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I'll see if I can find the mx-3 that was running one. Might have been mazdamaniac site know that I think of it... But I think he still used a transfer shaft.. Hmmm see what I can dig up.

Many moons ago, when MX-3s still roamed the Earth in healthy numbers, there was much discussion on this board about superchargers. A kit can be bought on ProbeTalk, but some fabbing is to be done, because of less clearance to the radiator. IIRC, DavidColeman was the most successful in this endeavor. Search the Old Skool threads.
Good luck, and keep us abreast.
