Miata Swappable Parts?

Post by erixon »

I have decided to keep my 1.6L DOHC in the car, but I want to know what parts are an upgrade for this motor from the Miata? I'm looking around for stuff but I am not exactly sure as to what is an upgrade or how close the motors are, or if they are the same thing... can someone please enlighten me as to what I should be mainly looking for? Thanks guys

There was a post a while back of what could be swapped from one to the other. That was probably a year or so ago. Search around for it, you'll find alot of what you need.

cam gears mazda miata 1.6 or 1.8 same size cam gears

cam shafts from the 89-93 1.6 mazda miata

Underdrive pully mazda miata 1.6 or 1.8 same again

lighten flywheel 1.6 mazda miata u also need 1.6 miata pressure plate and mx-3 clutch disc.
u'll be albe to use ur f-series tranny. the flyhweel bolt pattern will bolt up to ur b6de 1.6 dohc ..

as for a header u can modify a header from a 2.0 FS dohc (mazda 4cly mx-6) u mod it to fit on the 1.6 dohc..

thats all i can think off.

surprise no one won't input... im only writing due to the fact u even bothered to search.

There's a discussion in there with the differences in the B6's and what parts are interchangable.

as for that I not saying this is a bad up grade but, I was never a fan of this mainly because it was never dyno before & after. So i dont know the actually HP increase.
