Want clear headlight lenses for $10 and 5 minutes?

Post by jman271 »

I bought this stuff @ NAPA for $10,(it was actually on sale for $8.18), I used a electric drill, 5 minutes per side and they came out great.

My lenses were looking a bit smoked over and my vision @ night is getting worse,(no old age comments please), so I figured I would try, check them out!

it will only last so long until plastic starts glazing/yellowing again.

True, but even if I have to do every few months, it is worth it, the kit was cheap and comes w/ 6 pads,(1 per light).

Toothpaste and a stiff toothbrush work just as well if not better and it's cheaper... Just my 2 cents

You can try clear coating headlights. Clear coat will protect plastic lense from UV rays in turn keeping them clear for much longer.

or you can take a bit of rim cleaner with uv protection spray it on let it sit for a second wipe it off than with a little trany fluid on a cloth wipe it again and its gets even clearer, thats what me and my buddy tried on mine and it worked really well

My buddy has a car detailing business and he does mine for free but that NAPA stuff looks great. So whats the deal with shooting them with automotive clear coat. Is it a more permenant solution? I have a spare set of headlites so I could just drop them off.
