I have a 93 mx-3 I4 5spd and was wondering if an I4 5spd tranny from a probe would fit. Thanks :D

no, Only the v6 manuals are swappable, if you have an mx-3 rs with the b6 motor and you need to replace your tranny you want to use the protege lx transmission

How do I know if it is a b6 or not?

well if you have a rs mx-3 then you have a b6 if you have a gs mx-3 you have a k8, since you said you have an i4, then you have a b6, the protege lx uses a 1.8 bp motor but there trannies bolt up to the b6 and its a better tranny

Hey, that helps me a ton, but will a 1.5L Protege tranny fit too?

It will. It has to be from a second gen Protege.

Or an Escort GT, also the same tranny as the Protege LX.

If you did this, you have to use Escort/Protege axles, clutch, flywheel, and modify the halfshaft to mount to the back of the B6 block. It's much easier to use another F series transaxle with less headache.
