vortech FMU questions.

how do I identify if I have a 12:1 or a 10:1 or whatever fmu type I have?

mine is the vortech one(anodized blue case) and it only says vortech on it.

(I got it used from a friend)

btw: which would be ideal for my setup?(k8 turbo, stock pump, millenia s inj)

a fmu is a POS get rid of it.. others on here can say the same..


ur better off not haveing a FMU


take it from a turbo MX-3 guy

a fmu is not realible

others swear by it but its still a POS

I'll take that from you....I won't install it at first, but if I run lean, I'll give it a try I guess.

I'll have Millenia s injectors, so I think the k8 won't be too thirsty :)

I have everything now to get this turbo project installed, except the damn turbo hot pipes! grrrrrrrrrr. damn eBunk!

customs officers seem to drag their feet for sure!

yes fmu's are junk i ran my k8 with 220cc injectors with a walbro fuel pump and it loved it..

during the end of the summer i ran the boost unregulated made 18psi and ran a high 13 with just the injectors and fuel pump for the fuel system.... i dont know how the k8 handled it but it did....

i tried what u did with using the fmu just to play around with it never worked right for me

damn surprise ur engine is in one peice i guess u got lucky.

did you at least turn donw your timing and run race gas when you tried that?

either way, 13's with the k8 has to be some kind of record or something!

I would be happy to run in the 14's with this thing even.
