I wanted to renovate my Cam Belt Tensioner. I was hoping to find a helpful tutorial like the HLA one from SilverBullit on probetalk forum but have not yet.
So I've started with pics showing how I've put it back together but I'm unsure how much oil is required. The manual states a max Force of 9810N to compress the tensioner. Having never taken it off until now (now that it's broken/weak) I have no idea what kind of resistance it is supposed to have.
Before I took it apart I could press it in with finger and thumb.
I assumed that the ball bearing and sub assembly acted as a dampener rather than a check valve like with the HLA's. So now I think no oil is required other than to lubricate it.
What's the thoughts on this?

Only thing I can add is that when I compressed mine.. I had to use a vice and go very slowly.
