I need to do this as well...

I know this is like admitting to being 3/4 brain dead but...

The Silicone fix for a leaking oil pan... can someone post up a breif how to?

I'm thinking:

Drain Oil
Clean the shite out of the oil pan and mating surfaces (Brake Cleaner? )
When fully dry goop up liberally with high temp silicone and reintall oil pan?

Fully torque while silicone is uncured? Partially torque allow to cure fully torque?

thanks!

I would not recommend a cork gasket. Just fix it right and drop the pan, clean the mating surfaces and than apply a nice thick bead of silicone to the oil pan and than precede to bolt the pan back to the block. Let the silicone dry throughly before starting the motor. Also be careful not to get any silicone on the screen of the oil pick up tube or you could result in a drop of oil pressure. I suggest checking the online manual also for torque specs. You do not want to over torque the oil pan bolts.

Looking for another Red GS.
