[WTB] 94 1.6L DOHC Cylinder Head with cams

Post by GringoEJS »

If I don't get any responses here, I am just going to buy a complete motor Monday. I need a good complete cylinder head for a DOHC 4 cylinder MX-3. I would like the cams and caps to be included. Mine had the intake cam seize up and if I can get away with just swapping the heads, that would be great. Looking to buy ASAP and I have PayPal.
Please give me a price shipped to Kansas City, MO 64138.
Thanks

The local import salvage wants $350 for a complete good motor with 110k on it. I was hoping to find a head in the $75-$150 range. Just my luck, I sold the extra good head I had from a 95 MX-3 for $50 to a local kid, and now 8 months later, I wish I hadn't sold it.

it costs almost $100 to ship it. it takes a couple hours to pull it, find the right size box, pack it appropriately and take it to the ups store. $300's not that bad considering it arrives ready to install on your doorstep.

Whoever you ship through is ripping you off if a 1.6 head costs you nearly $100 to ship. I have sent plenty of heavier 2.0 DOHC DSM heads out for around $23 each through USPS. The UPS store sent out a complete 5-sp FWD transmission for me 2 weeks ago going to California for $93, and that is after they made the box for me to ship it in.
It looks like I am just going to buy the $350 engine at the salvage yard. They give a 90 day warranty and have done me right several times in the past. Since there were no heads on Ebay at the moment, I was hoping someone would have a reasonably priced head here on this site.
Also m90 Daytona, it only takes around 30 minutes to get a head off an MX-3. I have done it several times already, and these are very easy engines to work on. I sold my last good head for $50 thinking I was done with MX-3s, but I couldn't pass up a local 94 RS needing a head for $250.
