Shifter seems really loose

My shifter seems to be really loose and I cant figure out why, I just got a new tranny (well relatively new) put in because the last one went. Any suggestions what it could be?

More than likely your shifter bushings are either worn out, or whoever put your tranny in, forgot to put them back in. It is a really easy and cheep fix. While you are at it you can replace the third link bushings too.

I replaced my shifter bushings and shifting was much better.
