Looking to buy..

Post by minilogoK7 »

Hello I am new to this site and to these cars. I am looking to buy a '93 MX-3 with about 230,000 km on it. I was wondering if you guys would be able to tell me how long these engines are good for, and if I should bother to buy it. I would like to aviod an engine swap if possible. Mainly I'm asking to find out how much longer I can drive this car before the engine decides to quit/wear out.

Thanks,
Cody

230? what will you be paying for this? If your trying to avoid an engine swap, there are several things you can do to help extend the life of the motor, but best bet is to keep looking. If theres one thing to remember when purchasing a car, its that theres always another one. :)

the engine will run for a while, i personally don't recommed such high mileage car unless you are willing to spend money and time on it to bring it back in shape... at this mileage and age things like CATs, bushings, betls, links, etc... are already dead, or near dead, basically almost everything is falling apart lol..I would worry about things like that rather than worrying about the engine.
