WTB: shifter drop bracket fix

Post by billzie »

If anyone has or can make the shifter drop repair bracket, I am in need of one asap.
I will take two if that makes a difference in getting them made.
Let me know, thanks,
Bill.

His response to that post is the reason I'm asking if anyone else has them or can make them for a quicker delivery, I don't know if I can stand to drive like this for the next 7-8 weeks.

Drill a hole in the shifter plate and use a bolt and large washer to hold it up. Works just the same, costs less and it takes alot less time to make a Home Depot run than to wait on a manufactured piece to come by mail. The hole needs to be close enough that the washer will go over the unibody, but not be too close that it could rip through the shifter plate. It took a MOCA member about an hour to do this when his shifter fell.

Thanks for that info, but I've already rigged it for now, but I know that even that fix doesn't last too long, there is too much stress on the shifter plate with just a bolt/washer and have seen them rip through eventually. Also, there is a lot more vibration and poor shifting feedback like this.

I beleive rumnhammer is making another batch for april. If you want a proper permanent fix, I would wait for his. It's only 30 dollars, and it come quickly, and a good product. I could make you one as well, but it woudl be the same price and you'd probably recieve it only a couple weeks earlier than if you waited till april.

Vanished,
thanks again for your input, but I've already answered that. I'm just looking to anyone that has one or can make one now. If I had a shop to work in I'm have made one already with scrap bar stock for no out of pocket cost. So I am relying on the good folks out here who might be able to help me out sooner, rather than later. If I have to wait, then so be it.
