BP in Europe was : Newer type (115 hp), older types (128 hp & 140 hp)
I drive a 1.6 DOHC.
Now, when we got this settled, to my problem....
I found a 140 hp engine with supposebly 140k km for about 700$. Around here it´s an average paycheck for a month. Average I say...
So, my hands started shaking, and I called a mechanic who works a lot with Mazdas. Then the dissapointment. He told me tat there is so much work to put it in, and the result won´t be satisfying 4 me. He mentioned that they were racing this 140 hp against the 115 hp (had shorter gearbox) and that he wasn´t impressed at all. He said that the car could obtain the speed about 240 km/h, but the acceleration is pretty "low".
He told me that it would be a better idea to put a turbo or a compressor on my engine.
So the problem is that my engine sometimes blows bluish smoke on cold start. I think it would be better to buy the 140 hp BP, and then turbo it.
Of course, I don´t have enough money to turbo it immediately.
What do you guys think?? I mean, is acceleration really that bad on a BP???
Also, for the problems with engine install...
1. A/C - he told me I would have to find a A/C compressor from a 1.8 because the one from my 1.6 wouldn´t go. True?
2. Engine mounts. Are they a 100% direct fit???
3. speedo. is it different, and if it is, how much trouble is fixing the difference??
Hmmm... He told me some more things, but I will ask again when I remmember them...
Any help would be appreciated.
