93 MX3 as a daily driver (well... winter car)

Post by Schwank »

Hey guys, Ive had my MX3 for aboutt 3 years now, I bought it with 60k on it for 2500, and have been driving it with no problems ever since. Its got about 90k on it now and needs a few things. Keep in mind last year it shifted from a daily driver to a winter car so I'd like to keep the cost of repairs down :) I really only use this car from Dec- March these days to keep the "summer car" off the snow and ice.

Last year my Manual Gear shift started "dropping" out of its holder... the entire thing drops 3-4 inches, but still functions, I just pull it back up and it snaps in place for a while, does anyone know a fix for this, or the cost?

secondly I could really use a cat-back exhaust so if anyone has one in good shape who upgraded, let me know.

The shift assembly is probably dropping to the point it rests on your exhaust - common prob. A custom made "anti-drop bracket" is available and many members including me have bought from this guy Chris -xlnt seller, xlnt product, good price @$28 shipped (incl $3 donation to mx-3.com), and he had more as recently as Nov '06. Email him at Rumnhammer@aol.com and ask if he's still got em. Thread about it is here.

I didn't know about this, I just drilled a hole and fixed it but it's a noisy fix.
