Why would you go with this motor instead of a B6T, BP (turboed) or a BPT which will be a simple drop in. The F2 motor will require lots of custom work, different tranny, mounts etc and really doesnt produce that much power.

Same question here. I have the F2 in my '90 MX-6 and doesn't look like a happy time to be had getting it to work in the MX-3 fwiw.

i wouldn't mind seeing this swap. it's nice to see someone got a different route than everyone else (no offense to the bp guys). keep us informed, i'm very interested.

why. because im getting the motor for free, and no, its only a 70 hp increase, but its over doubble the torque.

not only that, but did i mention its free?

and also, just to be different!

if we all only did what was easy then there wouldn't be many fun mx-3's or other cars out there.... like joshs AWD mx-3 and my (almost done) AWD mx-3) and i know i remember that either another mx-3 or protege swapped this engine in... just can't recall which but since they are pretty much the same engine bay it can be done

it worked great, for about 20 mins, and then the megasquirt crapped out, i still have not had enough time to figgure out why. and now that the winters here, the megasquirt will just be going on the f2t probably.

there is something wrong with the hall sensor imput circuit on the megasquirt.

thats awesome man. You definatly have to post up a work log. If you think about it, it shouldn't be that hard of a swap. As many Honda swaps you need different motor mounts, wiring harness, etc. Its just not as easy as a BPT swap, which who care you got it for free and once you get a zombie chip which ups the boost to 15psi you'll be taking any BPT with your huge torque. If anyone doubts this look on Probetalk.com and the E/Ts in a heavy first gen.

So you have narrowed it down to something wrong inside of the MS itself?
Im caught between haltech and ms myself...

that is correct, i believe it has something to do with the value of the pullup resistor, because this is a known problem with the megasquirts, all hall sensors need a different value, perhaps mine is just on the edge of working

my next step will be to get a variable pot and replace the resistor with it, so that i can adjust the voltage.
