Taking out the rear bumper is a real PAIN!!!!@!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Post by Juans_93_MX3 »

OH MAN
Getting the rear bumper off is way much harder then getting out the CV Joints

I want to kill someone espically the makers of Mazda for making so many under-powered cars!
Oh wow, RX7 and RX8. Talk about no torque
Give me a 350ZX over a RX7. I crap on rotaries and K8s!

Anyway, anyone want to give me advice on taking this rear-bumper off? I have taken out a rear bumper off a car before but nothing like this!

I have unbolted the 4 bolts inside the trunk... the bolts and screws outside... what am I suppose to do next, tie the bumper to a tree and hit the gas?
This is BS
I had trouble with the crappy headlights aswell a while back.

Thanks Mazda!
Thank you for a 6cylinder 130hp/115 torque!
Thank you for your waste of gas and oil rotaries!
Thank you for giving people jobs at junkyards!
Thank you for having such crappy automatic transmissions!
Thank you for not continueing the MX3!
Thank you for these newer POS cars you make!
Thank you for not wanting to compete with Honda no more!
Thank you for being such faigs!

well those 4 bolts inside the car are for the bumper bar behind the bumper cover, that is all that holds that part on. to remove the bumper cover you have to take the taillights off, there are 3 screws on each side, a couple of clips inbetween the tailights, pop them from the inside and there should be 1 on each side at the tip of the fender well. honestly though you seem to be having alot of problems and complaining as much, sell the car and start over, it was not even the model you wanted.

There are 3 screws in the driver side fenderwell I think (one is hella hidden), but only 2 on the passenger side. 3 screws under each tail. Then the row of plastics that run underneath the bumper..

Those 4 in the trunk took me forever to find. I'm a little glad it's hard. I know that no one will be able to run off with my bumper.

Then why aren't you driving an uncrappy automatic 350zx, instead of an underpowerd mx-3?

cause its ugly and so heavy that my mx-3 without the AWD concersion could still accelerate faster and destroy it on the autox track... oh and my pocket book would be about 15-20 grand heavier if i kept my mx-3 (i don't think that would mess up the weight to power ratio though :) )

oh and one of their new POS cars just got higher ratings than the WRX from i believe it was car and driver (one of those magazines where they test cars in several areas against eachother and then rate them accordingly) and even beat it in a flat out race

I've removed a number of bumpers, my MX3 included. It's one of the tougher ones. Interesting though is that the only other cars I've worked on with similarly difficult bumper covers were a Lexus, a Cadillac, and a number of annoying Oldsmobiles. All were considered high end cars though. I'd say its a mark of quality.
