Can probably fit... but would you want to wire it up, do custom mounts, custom axles, etc?

Uhh No.

Not when you can get a BP-T and put it in and have a LOT more HP than the MS Protege motors had.

It's possible, but pretty stupid to do it IMIO.

if the rx-7 had been AWD i would be swapping the rotary in, instead of the of the bp with gtr AWD .... maybe he means the MS6 engine cause that one has a lot of potential

im sure u could make it fit as mazda did in the mazdaspeed 3 but id imaginge the hardest part would be getting the hood to shut as thats a taller motor, especially with the top mount intercooler

you would have a better chance mounting a 302 in there. the problem with the MS 2.0 in the 99 MS PRO, and the newer model 3, would all be hood clearance. its all about the hight of the engine bay. it would fit but could you close the hood? i know with the MS 2.0 you would need to mount the engine lower, or put one hell of a hood scoop on there. i thought about it before. so i went to the wrecker and measured everything out. you could definatly do it, but it would be a bit of custom fabbing for mounts.
