FSZE in an MX-3?

Post by David Coleman »

Has anyone thought about the feasability of swapping an FSZE into a MX-3? I understand it would likely require swapping of the F25M-R tranny as well. I think this would be a very interesting swap, as it would give the MX some much needed displacement, while freeing up much engine space over a V6. This engine space could of course be occupied by a turbocharger and associated hardware Image Any thoughts?
------------------
David Coleman- Moderator
1993 Mazda MX-3 GS Special Edition
Why get clear tail lights when only Geo Metros are gonna see them?

FSZE's
Give us more info on these engines?
How much power do they make?
Displacement
I never heard of a FSZE

So all that would be needed to do this swap is to swap out the tranny aswell? Everything else will work with it?

i dont see why you cant do an FS swap, we can put the KL motors in ours, MAYBE using the mounts from a PSE or MX-6 it might bolt up but then you got wiring to deal with and axels

It's the JDM version of the FS-DE (Probe, Protege, MX-6, 626) 2.0 DOHC. It's rated at 170 hp. That's 30 more right of the bat than any BP could ever muster.

familia sport 20 has it.

none of the GE chassis cars have it though, overseas almost none of them even have the FS like we got here...most have a KFZE instead.
