Is my Water Pump failing?

my 77k mile baby is makin a noise. Something like mettalic- rattling sound near the timin belt side, lower part of the engine. its not the p- steering pump. i ruled that out. this noise doesnt seem to be affecting the performance of the engine. ma pa him a mechanic by the sound thinks its a bearing, on the water pump. the car is old enuf to start havin these probs. What do u guys think?.

Could be your timing belt tensioner.

Take the accesory belts off. Spin every pulley by hand. If one is dragging or making a metallic noise when you spin it, that part needs a new bearing.

ill check out what u guys said. i bet it needs a new timing belt anyway. prob wasnt changed from the previous guy. Thanks for tha INPUT*** lata.........
