Turbo Setup - need help plz!
hello - Ok so now im going turbo, my question is will I need some sort of fuel/ignition control device ? Like a megasqurt or haltech ? Im going to be using a 323 gtx mainfold with a ihi vj-11 turbo. plan on running anywhere from 8 - 12 psi , on a 1.6 DOHC . I know tuning is eveerything so I want to make sure I do everything right. Any help would be thanked!

to tune u will need ms, and to run 8-12psi on stock internals ull need a very good tune...what kinda power are u trying to make?...i dont even think thatll net u 200hp, ull need a smallish intercooler or ull get boost lag...anyways i dont think u should run more than 10psi on that turbo, let alone using a small turbo like that, but i guess if ur getting it for cheap than itll be alright for starting off

The internal wastegate is set at 8.7 PSI from what i understand , and keeping in mind its a small turbo it will spool fast which i think is a gain, i will be using a boost controller with a electronic selonid so i can raise the pressure to 12 PSI at the flick of a switch. So from reading around all i really need to control fuel is a Raising Rate Fuel Pressure Regulator and upgraded injectors? ignition timing retarded ? and what is SAFC ?
