HEI power tower

Post by bluemx3 »

I plan on doing the HEI disty conversion as a precaution and I've read over the posts on how it's done, but I have one question. The power tower that is drilled into the cap, is there some kind to metal in the top of the cap that the tower makes contact with so the spark will be distributed to the plugs. The pictures I've seen just show the tower sealed into the cap, but there has to be some kind of metal connection for the electrical current. Also is it worth the extra money to buy the blaster coil and/or the premade power cap from the probe site.

if you need a power tower, you MUST have an external coil like the blaster2 coil.
I believe there is a strap that the power tower connects to, yes.

If you open your cap and look inside it, you'll notice a strip thats raised, thats the metal stap you hav to drill into. Its molded in so you have to drill through the plastic. Id suggest use a drill bit the size of the scrw in the power tower, then using a countersink so the bolt is flush with the cap on the inside to prevent rubbing.
