Few Q's About My New IM & ecu

Ok first off I just installed my millennia im w/ kl-31 ecu on my ze and im having a few problems.

1.) When ever accelerate in low rpm's 2k> it stumbles a little and then picks up strong all the way to redline (and it’s not all the time only some)

2.) No more check engine light. Even durin start up?

3.) The vris closest to the driver side never seems to move when I rev it from under the hood (normal?) only the 0ne to the far left

O ya and my front tires seem to be balding quickly :lol:

Any help would be greatly appreciated

The ZE is great isnt it? I just recently got one as well and have had similar problems.

1) This happened to me, I figured I am just bad at working the clutch... Not really sure what to tell you here.

2) I also no longer have a CEL. After searching around, it appears that Japanese cars dont have one either, so if you have a JDM ECU, that explains it. I hear there is a way to pull CEL codes, but I havent gotten around to checking it out.

3) My driver side VRIS actuator wouldnt activate either, but that was because the dumb mechanic only had one VRIS solenoid hooked up to both actuators, so today I fixed the problem by installing the second VRIS solenoid and properly hooking up the hoses. When I revved the engine I saw both actuators move. Maybe you just need to rev it higher?

4) The cause of your tire baldness problem would be your first gear. I think my first gear is faulty as well, it just makes a loud screeching sound followed by a burnt rubber smell. :twisted:

1) I would check ur spark...my car would do this as well and i found it to be the wires as they were arching on the manifold.

2) Yeah the Japanese cars had no CEL. So you CEL no longer works.

3) Check ur connections and ur vacuum lines. Check for any leaks.

The Jap cars had CEL lights, but the codes were different and the scanners to get the codes were different. I think some guys on Probe Talk got the codes so that we can atleast read them, but I haven't seen the info in awhile.

I don't have a 31 or 36 ECU so I didn't save the info (sorry)
