just how screwed is my engine?

relaced the disty today. everything great ecept for the fact that now the car is only running on 5 cylenders. didn't have this prob before the disty went bad.
im getting spark to the plyug and the plug is sparking. any info or suggestions would be great

If your getting spark (equivelent) to all cylinders are you getting gas to all?

So your getting spark to all the cylinders. Check for gas and if you are getting gas to all cylinders id compression test them next. You can get a compression tester from any automotive type store.

umm I would say all signs point to the fireing order. Check it double check it and check it again. for sho

True, firing order is a common mistake. You could have some wires in the wrong spots.

The cylinders are 1,3,5 on the rear bank from left to right and 2,4,6 on the front, left to right.
Check the disty cap it should have the cylinder numbers printed on it next to each socket for the wire.

Ah yes sometimes its the simply things...i forgot about that. Hopfully you just misplaced two wires. It happened to me before and ive alwasy known the firing order.
