my new car!!

Post by fieromx3 »

i picked it up on tuesday this week! shes in ok condition but paints faded a bit scrapes peeling and flaked off a bit and the hood isnt in the best shape and the passenger fender needs to be replaced. it has a 30psi boost gauge, pod, 3'' stainless turbo back, ported turbo manifold, MR7 rims, and a huge apexi muffler. it currently has no catilitic but i ordered a magnaflow 3'' in/outlet hi-flo. its a 1992 talon turbo AWD! it moves pretty good im guessing rite now a mid 14 second car. i still have my mx3 but it isnt on the road due to a fried tramsmission.

I used to have a laser, pretty much the same car. Loved it too and for the interior comment, you really have to sit in one to appreciate it. Everytime I got into it, I felt like I was in the cockpit of a fighterjet. It is just an unbelievable feeling. Just watch the trannies in those. They tend to crack the housing around the 5th gear syncros, look it up just in case I have the wrong place where they crack. The autos were even worse, they just stopped shifting and you would have to start of in 3 gear or overdrive. Either way, enjoy it and keep an eye on the tranny.

They can be a fast machines.

Interference engines though. My friend had one, riding up north with 4 people in it, we went to pass a jeep, got to his front bumper and water pump belt or something went, taking the brand new timing belt with it. We waved at the jeep people and coasted over to the curb. The motor was dead after that. So if you get your timing belt changed, have them change the other belt as well.

So have fun.

well as so ive thought the trannies can take a hell of a beating but the syncros are a little ''brittle'' yea sometimes it doesnt wanna go in first gear and grinds a bit in 2nd. it is pretty quick i know for a fact its faster than a kl-ze but im getting used to it so the power aint cutting it no more lol thx for the heads up tim as well i gotta change the belts soon as i have an oil leak and sprayed oil on the belts and u can c the one deteriorating- the power steering belt. all in all i still prefer my mx3 over this car

lol actually my friend said that but what calms me down is that its like 95% mitsubishi even the bolts are metric instead of the north american standard. trust me i HATE dodge but i like the talons and srt-4's..... and so far it has been keeping parts places in buisness

great buy :2thumbsup: i have a 92 tsi also, its bone stock though(minus the solid shifter bushings i put in...you should do this btw, it will make a huge difference and it takes less than 5 minutes) for the interior comment, i really like it, its very functional and ya it really is like a fighter jet. enjoy it, lots of fun.
