[Request] Lambo Hinge

Post by LooseChangeRacing »

Anyone with the hinges for the mx-3, grab me some pics of all angles and maybe some measurements, I'm still waiting on elmo and I wanna head to the shop and see how much I can reproduce them...shouldn't be expensive and when I say i'm serious I'm serious, once I get a price, we can get them mass produced...

Ok I got the pics of the blue hinges that elmo has, I'm going to run the picture by my shop and see if they can produce them for cheaper then elmo, if he thinks he can I'm gonna most likely either need to buy blueprints or borrow a set to make blueprints, the problem is I don't have the cash to be doing this, so if he can make them cheaper I would hope to help the community out, someone would lend me their set or if you got the blueprints, that works too, also, for info's sake, Elmo or anyone else that knows about these, is this the known working model, I mean I know you gotta roll the fenders and whatnot, but is it a true bolt (should weld though) on hinge? Anyway I'll post again definitly when I run these by the shop

the overall shape of them is the same. i think the only diff is that shea's design uses 2 shocks whereas elmo's use's 1. i've been dying to get my hands on lambo hinges for a long time, so i hope this doesn't fall through. good luck man.

with the 2 shock design the door can open normal and lambo style right? thats really important I think. It is not very practical if you can't open the doors the good old way.

i think with shea's design you can go both ways...doesn't matter to me, heck with lambos you can pull in anywhere lol, you only got about 3 inches you need to get out LOL, but yeah I hope I can get ahold of some prints or some real hinges and get them printed...oh and for information, if I was to get real hinges and get them printed I would post the prints becuase well it's only to help the community out and i doubt it, but someone might be able to get them made cheaper then me, I aint in this to make money, i'm thinking I can get them made for $60-$70 a hinge as long as there are 4 hinges in a piece, cause when I talked to him he was mentioning the size of material he would get and it would be for 4 hinges not just two...so when this rolls out you'll be able to spend $140 for hinges and $230 for shocks, so thats $370 plus the $30 you might pay someone to do the welding and poof $400 for lambo doors...you can't get cheaper then that...

when shea originally was selling them on ebay for $450 WITH shocks, i got interested and was playing email tag with him for a while. he told me that the entire kit cost him $250 with shocks. now, i don't know where he got them done though, but he lives near the gta i believe.

if you want i can forward you all my discussions with him about these, but i must warn you, this guy's an idiot and it makes me question his design. i haven't heard of anyone who successfully installed them. let me know.
