Gains from Protege Intake Manifold?

Post by Mazda_Power »

Check out this 2G Protege manifold... I noticed one while changing oil. I wonder if they flow better. Does anyone know?

i was looking at that a while back. they seem to be about the same size and length runners, just not cast. but one way it would benifit is for heat. i tink it would stay alot cooler than the cast one found on the MX

It looks bad?

I didn't know that we based performance on looks?

The engine is actually a B5 (1.5L DOHC) I doubt there would be much for gains since the engine displaces less, but stranger things have happened.

so this thing would fit on my b6de? looks like i'm going hunting this weekend!!

i think it would be cooler and flow a lot better with out the vics chamber tumbling the air around... at least it doesn't look like it has vics anyway...

would anyone know if I'm going to need the protege tb too or will my stock one work?

When they took the 2g top and mated it to the 1st gen bottom they made a little. But not enouhg to make it worth it.

It should since it's found on the B5 and B6 DOHC. I think I'll try one out on my Festy project.

that first one mentioned is actually the Z5, and the manifold does not match up to the B6 head..the ports are different shapes, as you can see in this link if you scroll down about 3/4 through the thread. just thought i'd help =)
